Gryn, Lagrange.AI and Quantics finalists in Supply Chain Start-up Contest 2024

Supply chain start-ups Gryn, Lagrange.AI and Quantics, from Germany, Switzerland and Austria respectively, have made it to the finals of the European Supply Chain Start-up Contest 2024. Since 2018, Supply Chain Media, as initiator of this contest, has identified and analysed over 250 European supply chain start-ups. Every year, it publishes an overview of supply chain companies that are a maximum of five years old in the so-called Maturity Matrix of European supply chain start-ups and scale-ups. Those companies are eligible for the annual contest.

The three start-up finalists submitted very different supply chain solutions: visibility of carbon emissions (Gryn), real-time network simulation (Lagrange.AI) and rapid demand forecasting (Quantics). But all three use artificial intelligence (AI) in their solutions.

In addition to these start-ups, Digilo, Holocene and The Climate Choice succeeded in making it into the finals of the European Supply Chain Scale-up Contest, also because of their diverse applications of AI in various links of the chain.

The six finalists will make their short ‘elevator pitch’ on the main stage of the inNOWvate Supply Chain Event at the Pathé cinema complex in Amsterdam-Noord on 22 May 2024. The three finalists of the start-up contest will also be interviewed individually by a jury of experts to decide who will be the successor to last year’s winner: Belgian Ventory (pictured).

Jury assessment

This year, the jury consists of Thijs Gitmans (investor at Shift Invest), Tariq Farooq (former Chief Operating Officer at Sanofi), Emilia Jevakhoff (CEO and founder of Winddle, winner of the 2021 contest), Jasper van Rijn (Managing Director at consultancy firm IG&H) and Martijn Lofvers (CEO & Chief Trendwatcher at Supply Chain Media, also chairman of the jury). The jury will assess the finalists on the commercial opportunities of the presented solutions, the level of innovation, the practical applicability and the clarity of the presentation.
