Supply chain start-up in the spotlight: Sustainabill

Sustainabill

Sustainabill GmbH was founded in Cologne, Germany, in 2017. The strong, multi-disciplinary founder team includes a sustainability expert, a data and requirements analyst, a full stack developer and machine learning expert and a former global executive in the high-tech industry.

A spin-off from renowned sustainability think tank Wuppertal Institute, the start-up is based on the belief that companies will increasingly make their purchasing and management decisions based not only on financial KPIs but also on specific sustainability data from the entire supply chain. Therefore, sustainabill offers a highly automated SaaS platform with features such as supply chain discovery, supply chain mapping and footprinting, providing deep insights into all sustainability-related aspects of the complete supply chain. This allows customers to achieve fully disclosed supply chain transparency.

Leading platform for all sustainability-relevant supply chain data

Sustainabill aims to become the leading platform for all sustainability-relevant supply chain data by offering deep insights for Purchasing/SCM, Risk Management, CSR, Product Management and senior executives. Currently employing seven people and based on approximately €180,000 of funding received so far, Sustainabill has key partnerships with the accelerators Tip me and EIT Raw Materials, and is already working for the likes of a Belgian retailer and bag and backpack manufacturer Fond Of. The company is particularly targeting customers in the textile, food & beverage, pulp & paper, furniture and electronics industries. Sustainabill was selected as a finalist in the European Supply Chain Start-up Contest 2018.
