Enter now: the European Supply Chain Start-up Contest!

The 1st European Supply Chain Start-up Contest is now open for entries. The aim of this contest is to promote and develop the entrepreneurial creativity and innovation of start-ups and university spin-offs for companies in the supply chain. The winner will receive a custom-made marketing campaign in the print and online channels of Supply Chain Media, in the shape of a one-year Platinum Partnership (worth €40,000 in total).

Who should enter?

The contest is open to start-ups or university spin-offs founded in or since 2013 only. All entrants must have a registered office in a European country (EU plus Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Iceland, Israel, Moldavia, Norway, Republic of Montenegro, Serbia, Switzerland or Turkey). Furthermore, the entrants must be privately owned and not part of an established company. The submission deadline for applications is Monday 26 March 2018 at 12.00 noon (CET).

Overview of the application and selection procedure:

  • Start-ups/university spin-offs submit their application form by noon on 26 March
  • An independent jury of supply chain and start-up experts will judge the applications
  • A total of 5 finalists will be invited to attend the inNOWvate Supply Chain event in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, on 24 May 2018, where:
    • One employee from each finalist gives a 2-minute pitch in English on the main stage
    • All finalists have a small booth to present their solution to the delegates
    • All finalists will participate in a 20-minute roundtable assessment
    • During the day, delegates can cast their vote for one of the five finalists
    • The jury members discuss the upfront input, the pitches, the roundtable assessments and the delegate voting until a unanimous decision is reached
    • The winner of the 1st European Supply Chain Start-up Contest is announced

  • Esther Gons, co-author of ‘The Corporate Startup’ (2017) and founding partner of NEXT Amsterdam
  • Allison Thomas, independent consultant at UnChain Consulting
  • Edwin van der Meerendonk, vice president European supply chain at The Walt Disney Company
  • Jeroen van Weesep, vice president innovation in operations at LEGO Group Supply Chain
  • Martijn Lofvers, CEO & chief trendwatcher at Supply Chain Media
