Jim Collins (born 1958, USA) describes himself as ‘a student and teacher of what makes great companies tick, and a Socratic advisor to leaders in the business and social sectors’. His quote about bureaucracy comes from his book Good to Great, a number-one bestseller which examines why some companies make the leap to superior results, and others don’t. In total, this and the five other books he has authored or coauthored have sold more than ten million copies worldwide. In 2017, Forbes selected Jim as one of the 100 Greatest Living Business Minds.
