Working Wisdom: quote about business and globalization

“Outsourcing is inevitable, and I don’t think it’s necessarily treating people like things.”

Stephen Covey (24 October 1932 – 16 July 2012) was an American educator, author, businessman and keynote speaker, born in Salt Lake City, Utah. His best-known book, called ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’, has sold over 25 million copies in 40 languages worldwide since first being published in 1989. It presents an approach for being effective in attaining goals by aligning oneself to ‘true north’ principles based on a universal and timeless character ethic – principles of fairness, integrity, honesty and human dignity. In Covey’s definition of effectiveness, obtaining desirable results is balanced with caring for that which produces results. Other books by Stephen Covey include ‘The 8th Habit’ and ‘The Leader in Me’.
