Winner of last quarter: The Netherlands as a logistics base

The Netherlands is the best region for a logistics base according to the ‘VerkehrsRundschau Markenstudie ImageRanking’. The market study by VerkehrsRundschau (a leading German magazine with a website about transport and logistics) assessed the attractiveness of the countries close to Germany as a base for logistics activities. The Netherlands secured first place based on the results from the large-scale survey among logistics decision-makers within manufacturing and retail companies in Germany.

In the ‘Base for Logistics Activities’ category, the Netherlands outranked France, Austria, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic, Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Denmark, Slovakia and Romania. An earlier study called ‘Europe’s Most Desirable Logistics Locations’, conducted by Eyefortransport on behalf of Prologis, has previously revealed the Netherlands to be a logistics hotspot. It ranked the Dutch city of Venlo as Europe’s most attractive location for a logistics base. Venlo was closely followed by Rotterdam, and the Tilburg-Waalwijk and Eindhoven regions also scored highly.
