Supply chain start-up in the spotlight: Shipit.to

Shipit.to

Shipit.to is a digital logistics platform using Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning to analyse supply chain needs, predict risks and aid in the decision-making process to avoid those risks. It offers an affordable shipment-tracking solution for customers such as e-commerce stores, luxury brands, freight forwarders and 3PLs with time-critical consignments, or any companies looking for real-time information about the location and condition of their shipments.

Shipit.to’s solution is based on low-cost disposable trackers, which are available to companies as part of a service package. Packing a tracker along with the cargo enables the shipment to be tracked using the shipit.to app or white-label online portal, 24/7. The trackers can be used to track any kind of cargo – from envelopes and boxes to pallets or containers – and are suitable for all modes of transport: land, sea or air. They are suitable for tracking routes lasting up to three months and can be simply disposed of after use.

Data-driven insights

Along the route, the sensors monitor shocks, temperature and low battery charge, and alerts and notifications can be issued in case of theft, delay, loss, as well as when the shipment enters the last mile of delivery, enters or leaves a port, etc. This allows companies to not only share extensive status information (location, route, contents, documents) with customers, but also to obtain data-driven insights based on the collection and analysis of all their cargo movements. The Shipit.to service enables companies of any size to join the IoT revolution and make their cargo smarter.

Shipit.to was founded in 2016 by an experienced team of entrepreneurs with extensive backgrounds in freight forwarding, logistics and technology. The firm, which has received undisclosed funding from private investors, currently employs ten people.
