A total of 114 attendees joined the webinar ‘The future of logistics & supply chain start-ups’ by Supply Chain Media and McKinsey on Wednesday September 2. The recorded webinar is now available on the YouTube channel of Supply Chain Movement.

McKinsey and Supply Chain Media hosted a joint webinar about the market and impact of logistics and supply chain start-ups. McKinsey has analysed more than 120 of the biggest logistics start-ups globally, representing an estimated 93 percent, or $26 billion, of total start-up funding in logistics to date. They have explored recent funding trends and their implications for incumbents, start-ups, and investors.

Supply Chain Media has published a Maturity Matrix showing the most important European supply chain start-ups for the third consecutive year. For this overview almost 200 start-ups have been analysed and commercial health checks have been done in the last two years.

Ludwig Hausmann (Partner Travel, Logistics, Transport Infrastructure at McKinsey & Company), Tobias Wölfel (Specialist for Transport & Logistics Industries at McKinsey & Company) and Martijn Lofvers (CEO & Chief Trendwatcher at Supply Chain Media) discussed the following topics in this interactive webinar:
• Global perspective on start-ups in logistics and supply chain
• In-depth overview of supply chain start-ups in Europe
• Implications on established logistics service providers and manufacturing, wholesale and retail companies
