Logistic Excellence Lead EUROPE by ADAMA

The position of Logistic Excellence Lead Europe is reporting to Supply Chain Manager Spain and Portugal and matrix to the Regional Supply Chain Manager Europe, works closely with the Europe and Israel supply Chain colleagues is a member of the ADAMA Spain Team and is based in Madrid, Spain.
Summary
Create and maintain an integrated ADAMA Europe logistics network – Improve logistic service level to our Business Units – Go to person for logistics in Europe. The Logistic Excellence Lead Europe is to lead the creation and maintenance of all ADAMA ONEurope Logistics & Warehouse budget, KPI & data processes incl. network optimalization. To ensure that sourcing process fulfills the needs of the ADAMA businesses, help optimize the rules set in ADAMA’s policies and agreements made in the contract between ADAMA and the overland third-party forwarders and warehouses. To drive continuous improvement of Logistics business processes by monitoring and analyzing activities across Europe. To effectively work with internal functional staff/teams and third parties to drive sustainable operations, leading Logistics initiatives as part of the Supply Chain Excellence Projects. Alignment on goals with the RSCM and the global logistics manager. Ensuring Supply Chain control accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of results, comparative analysis and commentary to the management. Understand business/economic/environmental drivers of actual results versus budgets.
The function supports the operations of the Supply Chain in Europe being the connection between headquarter functions with French SPF, Spanish Humanes, Italian Kollant and Polish AMP sites Customer Service teams regarding the customer service, customs and logistics activities. As located in Spain part of the role is to lead the logistic activities for the export from Spain with support of the local team.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Leads from a ADAMA position the 3PL sourcing strategy and investigates in collaboration with Syngenta colleagues the options for 4PL for overland operations, participating in carrier and warehouse optimalization process, creating an integrated European network. Ensures that sufficient market knowledge is kept in house. To set the annual Europe logistics and Warehousing WP and 5YP budgets across all Business units in coordination with the Logistics Operations, Planning and Finance functions and to prepare the Budget presentation to be reported to management. To subsequently track and monitor Budget progress and provide monthly Logistics Financial reporting data, including freight cost accruals and variance analysis vs. budget/latest estimates and to ensure that all variances are included and accounted for.
Acting as the Europe Logistics and order Management KPI coordinator, maintaining all volumes, spend and cost saving initiatives and setting up new templates. Provide suitable reporting dashboard to Europe and Global management on a monthly basis, to be presented when required at meetings and support by identifying opportunities to drive cost savings and network optimization initiatives for all of the Europe business functions.
Will lead the maintenance of all E2E logistics delivery and quality related performance indicators by ensuring data accuracy and visibility and updating system transit times, routes and transportation zones; help improve the service level to our Business Units. Will align with Europe Supply Chain Managers and Global Operations functions to set up and maintain Logistics forecasting templates to identify variations in Demand or Supply plans and so as to support Operations in identifying transportation and storage capacity issues. Proactively identify opportunities to improve Logistics and Order Management business processes (including documentation), Logistics data and Logistics KPIs collection and presentation through best practice application across Europe and from the export from the Spanish site. Focus on Primary Distribution and Warehousing activity, but also required to provide support to Secondary
Distribution work within Territories; act as the ‘go to person’ for Logistics in Europe.
Requirements
Broad knowledge of logistics, Air & Ocean transport, customs and warehousing. Having dealt with international operators (forwarders and or carriers) active in the respective transportation mode at multi countries level within a regulated transport industries on dangerous goods. Along with a clear understanding of compliance and application of best practice incl. Dangerous Goods regulations in the Agrochemicals/Pharma logistics business sector is an advantage. Good knowledge of processes linked to logistics (e.g. warehousing, customs, order management). Financial controlling, budgeting and accounting practices. Supply Chain Planning and Forecasting understanding. Knowledge of invoice control processes.
International experience working with large multi-nationals. Fluent English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking), other European languages an advantage. Preferably experience in working with SAP system and use of data management programmes/tools e.g., advanced Excel & PBI knowledge plus a Freight Cost Management (FCM) tool. Hands on approach, change management prior experience, good interpersonal skills, cross-functional stakeholder management capabilities & passion to succeed.
Location
The employee will be based in ADAMA Spain and will travel when needed to the European headquarter in Schaffhausen, ADAMA sales units, Europe production units and the Israeli headquarters.
