Category Lead– EMEA Procurement

Fulltime, 40 hours, Leiden, The Netherlands

Your job as a Category Lead– EMEA Procurement

As Category Lead EMEA Procurement you will be accountable for leading all supply-related aspects for and as such, deliver industry leading value whilst maintaining alignment with business needs. Success will be viewed through the delivery of competitive long-term strategic targets and objectives, development of best practice sourcing capabilities and market knowledge and through the realization of procurement synergies across the Regional & Global footprint of Astellas. As Category Lead EMEA Procurement you will lead global and regional sourcing initiatives with accountability to work with the business units and functional areas and key stakeholders to deliver industry leading value and relevant functional, business and performance objectives through the use of a wide range of value levers. Highly developed stakeholder management will be required in order to generate ideas and opportunities and ensure the strategy and plans are aligned to functional and business targets. In this role you will travel regional and global for 30-40%.

Your personal qualifications as a Category Lead – EMEA Procurement

  • Master degree
  • Extensive Procurement experience and in depth understanding of the Category Management process
  • Experience in all Procurement disciplines including Procurement Strategy, Strategic Sourcing, Procure-to-Pay, Procurement Systems and Category Management
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in identified areas
  • Experience of managing Category Teams and challenging categories in complex and matrix driven organizations

As Category Lead EMEA Procurement you will have advanced negotiation and contractual skills to ensure that all contract negotiations are conducted effectively and with consistency. In addition, you will be required to demonstrate leadership to business stakeholders and suppliers and provide a clear vision and be able to motivate people with different agendas to support and implement the vision.
