Gartner’s supply chain technology survey 2019

Gartner and Supply Chain Media have teamed up for the 4th time to research supply chain leaders’ views on supply chain practice and technology. These are some questions the supply chain respondents will come across filling out this technology survey: What do YOU consider to be the most important strategic changes your organization will make in your supply chain operations over the next three years? What do YOU consider to be the top three obstacles to achieving your organization’s supply chain goals and objectives?

The research is an extension of the Supply Chain Technology User Wants and Needs survey that Gartner has run in North America for the past 11 years and we are going to draw comparisons between the US and Europe.

This years technology survey revealed that half of all the companies worldwide use cloud-based supply chain software. 64 of the respondents were big companies with more than a thousand employees. Companies that are already (in the process of) using cloud-based solutions do so because of the convenience, speed and costs compared with on-premise implementations. The large majority of respondents are considering cloud-based solutions but are somewhat hesitant due to security concerns. Solutions for activities such as customs clearance (Global Trade Management), transport management (TMS) and supply chain collaboration are often already in the cloud. These will increasingly be joined by solutions for analysis and performance management.

Gartner has built this technology survey for Supply Chain professionals who are involved in decisions regarding SCM processes, strategies and supporting technology. You will be asked a few questions at the beginning to confirm you are eligible to complete this study.
