Big cost reductions within supply chain are possible
Supply chain professionals learn how to translate static formulas into practice
The reduction of costs by means of supply chain optimisation is always on the agenda for companies whom hold stock. In reality this is not an easy thing to achieve: static formulas are very difficult to apply successfully in a constantly changing reality. Bart van Gessel, an enthusiastic supply chain professional at Slimstock, recently gave the bespoke EOQ formula a new boost. The necessity of a translation from theory into practise is apparently great: the Whitepaper ‘Unravelling the secret of optimal order quantities’ has been downloaded in great numbers worldwide. Now a series of practical workshops is organised in follow up to this theme.
Practical pointers in preventing lost sales
The owning, maintaining and managing of stock is expensive and takes a lot of time. However, you do need enough stock to be able to deliver good service to your customers: no stock results in no sale. Slimstock organises a large number of international workshops. In places like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Lisbon and Santiago, supply chain professionals will learn how to calculate optimal order quantities by means of the EOQ formula. By reducing stock whilst also increasing the service level, big cost reductions are possible within the supply chain.
The series of sessions will take place in Amsterdam, Birmingham, Barcelona, Dortmund, Duisburg, Mechelen, Paris, Aachen, Lisbon, Porto, Santiago, and Brazil. Those interested in attending can apply for a free session here.
