Driving Change

Following last year’s motto „A world in motion“ BVL takes it one step further in 2016 and puts this year’s conference under the headline „Driving Change“.„In Berlin, we intend to talk with international experts, founders and executives about how the integration of logistics, supply chain management and IT will affect company structures, industry borders and business models”, says Prof. Raimund Klinkner, President of BVL.

Klinkner is one of the opening speakers of the conference, along with Ulrich Grillo, President of BDI, Oliver Zipse, member of the executive board of BMW AG and Joachim Drees, CEO of MAN SE. More than 3,000 delegates hear 120 speakers within the framework of 120 hours of conference programme. There are plenary and specialist sessions, discussions, LOG.Camps and excursions. On an evening gala on the first day the awarding ceremony for the German Award for Supply Chain Management takes place.

The initial specialist session focuses on Change Management and how to best involve your staff. Human Resource Management and Development is the topic of the session named “Working World 4.0”. Further sessions feature new business models and the importance of a brand strategy and a brand image. Four sessions will be about cloud computing and security issues, new possibilities presenting themselves in urban logistics, insights to Industry 4.0-implementations and examples of innovative solutions in digital transport management.

Logistical challenges in four different industries are also on the agenda: Machinery and Plant Engineering is presented as pioneer of digitization; recent challenges in automotive logistics are addressed, as well as the special requirements of logistics for pharma and healthcare and the rapid changes taking place in commerce. Furthermore, first results of the update of BVL’s study Trends and Strategies in Logistics and Supply Chain Management are presented.
