Corey Billington

Professor of Operations Management and Procurement at IMD

Corey Billington, who is currently involved in open innovation projects in collaboration with suppliers and within networks, is a pioneer and leader in supply chain innovation and procurement practices. Billington has previously been Vice President of Supply Chain Services at Hewlett-Packard (HP), where he was in charge of procurement and central engineering, heading up a team of 1,400 professionals who were experts in procurement, engineering, tax design and cost management. His interest in supply chain management began in the eighties during a research project at Stanford University. Billington was inventing techniques to improve the supply chain, and he predicted the trend towards increasing profit margins through effective supply chain management, before most people had even heard of the term ‘supply chain’.
